About 3.0.6b1

Instructions

First Time User or Replace Entire Set

To start with the entire 3.0.6b1 set or to replace all older files, do the following (the * steps affect anyone who has made changes to any of the coding in the routines):
  1. *Copy any procedure files that you have changed to a secure location (outside of the SpXZeigR 3.0.0 directory).
  2. Delete (trash) the entire f SpXZeigR 3.0.0 directory (folder) (ie, remove it from the User Procedures directory).
  3. Put the f SpXZeigR 3.0.6 directory (folder) in the User Procedures directory.
  4. Delete the SpXZeigR 3.0.0 experiment.
  5. Copy the SpXZeigR 3.0.6b experiment to the location where you would like it to be.
  6. *Edit any procedure files to incorporate your changes.
  7. Open the SpXZeigR Preferences file with a text editor and reset the appropriate values to your preferences.

Changes

SpXZeigR and SpXZeigR Preferences

The main routine no longer depends on the version number of the preference file. The USER IS RESPONSIBLE for making sure the right version of the preference file is being used.

Check the preferences file for comments about what is planned for the final version of 3.0.6. In particular, menu selections will move to their own places (SpXZeigR and SpXZeigR Settings) and will no longer be readily accessible (they will be folded into the individual procedure files). This is to give you the freedom to develop your own routines under the Macros menu (comments or other suggestions are welcome).

Added filetypes AFMV and AFMD for Voltage vs Distance and Deflection vs Distance curves, respectively. These filetypes are toggled by changing the parameters in the DI Deflection Curve Load Parameters menu (see below).

Core Routines

Removed all occurrences of "then" after "if".

DI ForceCurve Module

This reads Nanoscope deflection files (force curves) that were saved in ASCII format. It adds a menu setting called DI Deflection Curve Load Parameters under the SpXZeigR Settings menu. Use this menu selection to set what style of display (volts versus distance or deflection versus distance) and where to show multiple curves (when more than one channel of data has been acquired).

File Handlers

Added the DI ForceCurve Module to read Nanoscope deflection curves (in ASCII format).

The loader now sets a sequence number based on the base name input rather than based on the total number of *_ydat* waves. In other words, given the following waves: testdata_ydat_1; testdata_ydat_2; rawdata_ydat_3;, and a basename of testdata for the NEXT wave, the previous version would set the new wave name to testdata_ydat_4. This version sets the new wave name to testdata_ydat_3. Using a basename of rawdata for the next wave would set its name to rawdata_ydat_3 (the next greatest file increment number).

Moved the ParseStrinWave function to the File Handlers to be generally available to other wave input modules.

Fixed a potential problem with the ParseStrinWave function. It now searches for (NOT((before 0) AND (after 9)) or (equal to .)) to find a valid number.

Removed all occurrences of "then" after "if".

Manipulation Routines

Commented out a print statement that had been left uncommented in the Cascade routine.

Removed all occurrences of "then" after "if".

SpXZeigR Common Functions

The function NWavesWStr(pstr) returns the greater of the number of waves named pstr or the last index number of pstr.

Added function xzSortThem (borrowed from WaveMetrics SortStringList()).

Removed all occurrences of "then" after "if".

VMAS Module

The VMAS DES and VMAS loaders check whether the file is XPS or AES in order to set the x axis scale of the waves correctly.

Removed all occurrences of "then" after "if".
